Dear Rock On Audio Customers,
In late January of 2013, we found a bug in the firmware for the Tasty Blender. If you purchased a Tasty Blender prior to Feb 7th 2013, then your unit is effected by this bug. All units that have shipped out since then have the latest firmware and do not require an upgrade.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:
If you set the BASS EQ to a negative value (i.e. "bA:-1", "bA:-2", etc.), it will cause the unit to stop working. This problem only takes effect after you cycle power. Note, after adjusting the BASS EQ setting, you must wait 10 seconds for the unit to save the setting and return to the home volume parameter.
TO MANUALLY CORRECT THE SETTING:
Navigate to the BASS EQ parameter, and adjust the setting to "0" or a positive value. When you first reach the BASS EQ parameter, the display will show erroneous messages until you adjust the setting. Once you adjust the setting by rotating the knob in either direction, the display will begin to work correctly again.
FIRMWARE UPGRADE OPTION:
We have new firmware that allows for negative bass settings. If you wish to upgrade your unit, it will need to be re-flashed at our facility. We are offering to pay for shipping charges both directions (international customers will not be required to pay customs fees again - we will declare the shipment as a gift, as there will be no payment accepted for repair).
IF YOU DO NOT USE THE NEGATIVE BASS EQ:
You may choose to keep your Tasty Blender as is. There are no additional features included in the new firmware. It simply adds the functionality of negative BASS EQ settings. There is no risk of your current Tasty Blender malfunctioning unless you actively adjust the BASS EQ to a negative setting.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to upgrade your firmware by replying to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your patience with this matter.
